Pedigree and PDF export
How the tree is built
You do not fill in a tree, you link parents. Every bird has a sire and a dam; the rest builds itself from the links that exist.
That means you can start with what you know and fill in the gaps later. An incomplete tree is normal and blocks nothing.
What the explorer shows
Alongside the tree, you get analytics computed from it:
- COI (inbreeding coefficient), by Wright's path method
- Linebreeding — ancestors appearing on both branches, with
3×4notation - Dominant strains in the ancestry
The figures are computed from the tree you have. The more complete it is, the more accurate they are. A COI of 0% on an empty tree does not mean there is no inbreeding, it means we cannot see it.
PDF export
Three layouts, all A4, all vector: selectable text that prints cleanly at any size.
The number of generations depends on your plan. Beyond four generations the export continues on additional sheets so it stays readable.
Every exported pedigree carries a QR code. Whoever scans it sees a public verification page with the bird's details. You decide what is public.
Before you pair
Tools includes a COI calculator for a pair that has not been mated: pick two birds and see the offspring's coefficient and their common ancestors. Same formula as in the pedigree.
